New facility in South Carolina strengthens ASIS's presence in the North American market and provides space for an innovative demonstration cell

Landshut/Greenville, July 30, 2026 – ASIS will open its North American headquarters and U.S. operational facility in Greenville, South Carolina, later this year. The company will move into new office and laboratory space in the Crescent Innovation District along Poinsett Highway.

The approximately 120-square-meter facility will serve as both the North American corporate headquarters and a technical demonstration and customer center. At the heart of the facility is a demonstration cell developed in collaboration with long-standing technology partner Micro-Epsilon. It showcases innovative automation technology for the detection and automated repair of paint defects.

The “Automatic Finish” system for the automated detection and repair of paint defects on topcoats, e-coats, or primers is specifically tailored to the North American market and is based on the moving-line principle. It is available on-site to customers, partners, and educational institutions, enabling them to test their own workpieces and process materials and evaluate the results directly.

Customer Proximity and Technological Presence in North America

With this new location, ASIS is strengthening its presence in the North American market. Going forward, customers will receive even more direct support in the planning, implementation, and management of complex automation projects.

Greenville is one of the major industrial hubs in the southeastern United States and offers a robust infrastructure for companies in the automotive, manufacturing, and automation sectors. Key factors in the decision to locate there included, in particular, proximity to key customers, the dynamic economic environment, and close ties to universities and technical educational institutions.

Key partners in the region include the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research and Greenville Technical College, among others.

Long-Term Commitment to Greenville

The Greenville City Economic Development Corporation facilitated the establishment of the facility. It supported ASIS in its search for a location and in integrating into the region’s economic and innovation network.

“We received a very warm welcome from the Greenville City Economic Development Corporation and, in particular, from Sam Konduros. Greenville offers a dynamic environment and, with the Crescent Innovation District, an exceptional location. It quickly became clear to us: This is the right place for ASIS in North America,” explains Nils Pelzer.

Hans-Jürgen Multhammer, founder of ASIS, will oversee the establishment and development of the company’s North American operations. Nils Pelzer, the company’s longest-serving employee, will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer for North America. As Director of North America Business Development, Christie Vitale is responsible for market development and serves as the primary point of contact for customers and partners.

ASIS focuses on showcasing innovative technologies, building local customer relationships, providing technical project support, and further networking with industry, research, and education.
