At Audi Ingolstadt, ASIS’s Automatic Finish system is in use in mass production. In several robotic cells, complex finishing processes are automated and carried out with process reliability—from the detection of relevant surface characteristics to targeted processing through sanding and polishing.
The solution combines intelligent defect detection, automated path planning, robotics, and coordinated application technology into a seamless process. This allows surface defects to be addressed precisely and finish tasks to be integrated into series production in a stable, repeatable, and efficient manner.
The project demonstrates how ASIS transforms complex manual processing steps into an automated, industrially scalable process. This resulted in a solution for Audi Ingolstadt that combines precision, process reliability, and efficiency.
