ISYBOT Sanding Cobot
With ISYBOT, sanding automation means: easy training, flexible use, and reducing the workload on skilled workers.
The ISYBOT bridges the gap between manual sanding and a fully automated robotic system. The operator transfers their process knowledge directly to the cobot. The system then reproducibly executes the programmed paths using consistent process parameters.
ASIS distributes the ISYBOT in Germany and provides support in evaluating the application, integrating it into the production process, and during ongoing operation.

Program grinding paths directly on the workpiece without any programming knowledge.

It's so compact that it can be used right where the work needs to be done.

Consistent grinding results, regardless of wear and operating conditions.
"Plug & Work" Instead of a Complex Robotics Project
Large components, varying geometries, and small production runs often require significant effort to automate using traditional robotic cells. At the same time, manual grinding tasks tie up skilled workers and place a constant physical strain on them.
The ISYBOT was developed specifically for these tasks. The collaborative grinding robot is guided directly on the workpiece and then performs the programmed sequence of operations. Extensive modifications to the workstation or lengthy implementation phases are not required.
In this way, the ISYBOT combines the operator’s experience with the endurance and repeatability of a robot.
Manual grinding has its limitations
- Physically demanding and repetitive work
- Fluctuating quality due to fatigue and daily variations in performance
- Retaining qualified skilled workers
- Limited productivity across multiple shifts
- Processing results that are difficult to standardize
Flexible Sanding with ISYBOT
- Reducing the burden on employees during monotonous tasks
- Reproducible paths and process parameters
- Constant contact pressure during machining
- Quick setup for new workpieces
- Use in single-shift operations through to 24/7 operations
For grinding tasks that, until now, have been difficult to automate cost-effectively
The ISYBOT is particularly well-suited for large components, frequently changing variants, and workstations where the flexibility of an experienced worker is still required.
Learning a path instead of programming a robot
The operator manually guides the ISYBOT over the workpiece and defines the required points or the desired path. Input is performed intuitively using two control buttons on the robot.
Contact pressure, feed rate, speed, and other process parameters are then set via the control console and saved along with the path. This allows processes that have been defined once to be reliably reused.
Controlled pressure for reproducible surfaces
When grinding, it’s not just the path that determines the result. A consistent contact force is just as important.
The ISYBOT’s patented ball screw and cable drive ensures low inertia and enables smooth movement of the robot arm. During automatic machining, the grinding force is monitored and kept constant.
This ensures consistent results—regardless of shift length, operator fatigue, or individual working style.
Full automation for higher production volumes
ASIS develops customized automatic grinding systems for interlinked production lines, high-volume production, and complex plant designs.
From workpiece handling to robotics and grinding technology to full control system integration, we create a comprehensive solution tailored to the production process.

Define paths directly on the workpiece—without traditional robot programming.

A defined grinding force ensures consistent and repeatable machining results.

Line, surface, free path, or multiline, depending on the workpiece geometry.

A compact solution for flexible use at various workstations.

Grinding dust is captured and extracted directly at the tool.

Designed for dusty, high-vibration, and demanding production environments.
